Shopify Development for Hey Girl Studio
Anxious Girl Knits is a colourful knitwear brand creating handmade pieces that are full of personality, so the website needed to feel just as joyful as the products themselves.
The beautiful design was created by Sarah at Hey Girl Studio, and my role was to develop it in Shopify. I love projects like this because they combine great design with thoughtful development. My job was to take Sarah's vision and bring it to life, making sure every detail looked and worked exactly as intended across desktop and mobile.
Some of my favourite features include the colourful sticky header, playful collection tabs that change colour as you browse, and the bright slide-out cart that makes shopping feel fun from start to finish. We also created custom galleries to showcase customer photos, a bespoke mega menu that makes navigating the store effortless, and beautifully structured product pages with expandable sections to highlight the quality and craftsmanship behind each piece. Throughout the site, clear brand values and newsletter sign-up sections help build trust and encourage visitors to become part of the Anxious Girl Knits community.
This project is a great example of how I work with designers.
Rather than relying on an off-the-shelf Shopify theme, I developed the website using custom Shopify sections and templates, giving Sarah complete creative freedom while making the site easy for the client to update. From responsive development and bespoke functionality to flexible content sections and polished interactions, every detail was built to match the original designs and create a seamless shopping experience.
